Job Description
Job Title: Painter/Decorator
Department: Engineering
Inspired and supported by: Engineering supervisors and Engineering manager
Salary: £35,921 (including service charge)
Your purpose will be:
To maintain and enhance all interior and exterior finishes of the building. To highlight any opportunities to improve and enhance the building.
You will be accountable for:
1. Maintaining paint and paper finishes in all areas
2. Seeking opportunities to improve the look and finish of all areas
3. Keeping open good lines of communication with all departments and within the department
Your key responsibilities & contribution will be:
4. Keeping all paint finishes in the building up to standard
5. Paper hanging including wide vinyl paper
6. High standard of preparation work to ensure quality finish
7. To regularly check paint stock and to report to supervisors what needs ordering
8. Communicate rooms and areas needing repair and time lines on how long the work will take
9. To meet all service standards in every guest interaction
10. To keep all equipment and tools provided by the hotel are kept in good repair
11. To work well alongside other departments and other trades within the department to ensure smooth running of the hotel
12. Communicate any delays due to any unforeseen problems in a timely manner so expectations can be managed
13. To keep work areas clean and tidy at all times and use signage provided by the hotel
14. Coverage of night shifts when needed in areas that cannot accessed during operational hours
15. Maintaining a high standard of personal grooming and appearance
Qualifications
What you will need to do in this role?
Essential :
16. 3 – 5 years experience in painting and decorating
17. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate effectively with people of all levels
18. Enthusiastic and positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships
19. Ability to multi task and problem solve in a fast paced environment
20. Keen eye for detail
21. Proven organisational skills works well on your own. Able to set and meet deadlines with quality results
22. Flexibility to work different shifts including night shifts
Desirable:
23. 1 – 3 years experience in luxury hospitality environment
24. City and guilds qualification in painting and decorating
