Job Title: Lead Structural Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Structural Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading offshore renewable industry EPC company, based in Westhill, Aberdeenshire.
Key Responsibilities:
* Utilize specialist skills and knowledge in key areas of offshore structural transportation and installation engineering.
* Coordinate and supervise the work of (Senior) Structural Engineers, providing guidance on calculation methods and procedures.
* Evaluate, organize, and prioritize workload, ensuring effective time management.
* Maintain strong interfaces with subcontractors and internal clients, fostering collaborative relationships.
* Resolve technical queries and recommend solutions to engineering problems related to structural elements.
* Perform structural engineering tasks from concept design to detailed design for grillage and sea fastening, lift points, lifting appliances, and installation aids.
* Prepare and review detailed calculations and drawings on project-related subjects such as rigging, pad-eyes, sea-fastening, barge grillages, etc.
* Participate in internal meetings, client meetings, yard visits, mobilizations, and offshore works, promoting open communication.
* Ensure compliance with company engineering standards and relevant codes, maintaining high levels of professionalism.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
* A minimum of 8 years' experience working in a project/construction-related environment in a Structural Engineering role.
* Prior experience in the offshore construction industry is essential.
* Sound knowledge of industry codes, standards, and design guidelines, including API, DNV, AISC, ASME, ISO, etc.
* Expert proficiency in Sesam GeniE, SACS, and ANSYS software.
* Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
* Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively.
* Innovative and hands-on approach, with a willingness to travel abroad to sites and occasionally offshore to our vessels.
Estimated Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum
