Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will assist in the smooth running of the Finance Department. This is a hands-on role supporting the Financial Controller in meeting reporting deadlines whilst also ensuring that robust business processes and controls are in place.
What will you be doing?
1. Assist with the month-end process to ensure that Group reporting deadlines are met.
2. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet, including variance analysis.
3. Review inventory including price and usage variances, standard costs, and analysis of slow-moving inventory.
4. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
5. Monitor projects.
6. Support ongoing ERP developments and identify opportunities for process efficiencies and automation.
7. Liaise with budget holders.
8. Support the Financial Controller to ensure internal controls are implemented.
9. Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process.
10. Assist with year-end work including liaison with auditors.
11. Ensure the company complies with HMRC requirements.
12. Ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards.
13. Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members.
About You
1. Ideally a qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant.
2. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
3. Prior experience in cost accounting and financial analysis ideally in a manufacturing setting would be great; however, it is not essential.
4. Confident and effective communicator with a good level of written and oral English.
5. IT skills including Excel.
6. Experience of supervising staff.
