Job Summary:
Risk Assessment Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire Safety Manager to lead our fire safety program and be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing fire strategy projects, fire risk assessments, fire emergency and management plans & other fire safety related cases within our diverse portfolio. The role includes managing a team of young and qualified fire risk assessors and strategists. This role is essential for safeguarding our assets, as well as maintaining our reputation within the industry.
Key Accountabilities:
* Undertaking fire risk assessment across a range of built environments to meet regulatory fire safety requirements.
* Prepare and document fire risk assessments that comply with internal quality assurance processes.
* Offer expert advice and support on fire safety and risk reduction strategies.
* Conduct fire safety consultations, on-site surveys, and provide solutions for compliance.
* Contribute to the development of fire risk assessment methodologies and stay informed about industry changes.
* Review the completion of the Fire Risk Assessment programme, including the validation of fire risk assessments for the Tier 1 and Tier 2 fire risk assessors within the organisation.
* Interpret and apply fire safety legislation, national guidance, and technical standards.
* Creating fire strategy solutions for clients within the built environment and development.
* Designing fire management plans.
* Supporting clients in developing a fire safety management system to British Standards.
* Reviewing and implementing requirements under the new building safety management bill.
* Designing and presenting fire safety training to clients' needs.
* Act as the subject matter expert (Fire) to all relevant stakeholders.
* Participate in continuous professional development.
* Production of training matrix for all assessors within the organisation and ensuring the training requirements and competency is met by all staff.
Knowledge & Experience:
* MIFSM, MIFireE, AIFireE or GIFireE (Essential).
* Tier 3 Fire Risk Assessor (Essential).
* More than 10 years’ experience in advising, improving and supporting the fire safety management within the built environment, covering residential, offices, sleeping accommodation and other commercial properties that are complex and/or tall buildings (More than 6 stories). (Essential).
* Developed and delivered a significant number (30+) retrospective fire strategies with existing properties. (Essential).
* Have completed fire management plans to support accountable and responsible persons (incl. other duty holders). (Essential).
* Have the capabilities to prepare a safety case for a high rise residential block. (Desirable).
* Good working knowledge of the Health & Safety at Work Act (Essential).
* Experience of writing specifications for fire safety project work (Desirable).
* Experience of procuring and administrating fire safety construction work (Desirable).
* Experience as a Lead Auditor (Essential).
* Good Working knowledge of building construction, including non-traditional built properties (Essential).
* Extensive contractor management experience CDM/non-CDM and project management (Desirable).
* Experience in delivering presentations and holding meetings with senior fire officers (Essential).
* Ability to run training in relation to fire safety to both technical and non-technical staff (Essential).
Qualifications:
* BSC/NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ6 in Occupational Health & Safety.
* MIFSM, MIFireE, AIFireE or GIFireE (Essential).
* NEBOSH (Essential).
* Level 4 IFE Diploma (Essential).
* Level 5 IFE Diploma (Desirable).
* CFPA European Diploma (Desirable).
* BSc in Fire Safety Engineering or Fire Engineering or similar (Desirable).
* Full driving licence required for this role.
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will need either relevant fire safety management experience and/or relevant industry qualifications at a minimum of a Level 4 Fire Safety Diploma.
