Overview
We are looking for a Manager for our award-winning pub set in the amazing village of Welwyn. The White Hart has a 1AA rosette restaurant, 13 bedrooms with AA 4 red stars, and a beautifully refurbished function room alongside a lively village pub/bar. We are seeking someone with great maître d' skills to ensure our guests have a memorable experience while nurturing a team to deliver excellent service. We pride ourselves on great service with a relaxed approach. This role would suit someone who enjoys delivering exciting high-quality food in a country pub environment. We have a very good history of staff retention and internal promotion, with our current management team across 2 sites averaging 7 years employed with us, all having progressed over the years. If you are passionate about food & wine and guest satisfaction, The White Hart would be a great fit. We operate a compliant tronc system which is not included in the salary.
Duties
1. Manage daily restaurant & hotel operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
2. Work closely with the head chef to ensure high standards.
3. Develop and implement training programs for new employees, focusing on food safety practices and customer service excellence.
4. Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock without overextending resources.
5. Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
6. Conduct regular performance evaluations of staff members, offering constructive feedback to foster professional growth.
Skills
1. Proven experience in supervising restaurant or hotel operations, with a strong understanding of culinary practices.
2. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
3. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
4. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with staff and customers alike.
6. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
7. A passion for delivering outstanding dining experiences through teamwork and dedication.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
