Job Purpose and Impact
Location: Manchester (M17 1PA) –Permanent Monday-Friday position – Hybrid working supported (2/3 days in the office) in person customer visits are required (UK/Ireland / Nordics) on a frequent basis and there will be quarterly travel to Cargill locations across Europe.
Cargill’s Manchester plant is a production facility which is key to the UK food, spirit, pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetics industries. The plant and offices located in Manchester are part of the Cargill starches and sweeteners business which produces sweeteners, wheat protein and alcohol for customers in the confectionery, brewing, drink, dairy, farming and bakery sectors.
The Senior Technical Account Manager will provide technical advice and support to customers during and after product sales for Dairy and Dairy Alternatives. In this role, you will be the lead Technical contact for customers and you will stay ahead of technology and business practices through workshops, research and professional meetings, partnering with Cargill Commercial colleagues to deliver customer value.
Key Accountabilities
* Collaborate with internal commercial colleagues to provide onsite technical support for current customers and prospect customers
* Provide customer solutions and technical support materials to specific customers focusing on Dairy and Dairy Alternative Ingredients and solutions
* Perform complex research for product development to understand product properties and systems operations in conjunction with Cargill Technical application teams
* Compile and analyse data for project updates, working with external suppliers to test new products and technologies to make recommendations on applications
* Organize project data and conclusions for internal and customer presentations, assist with product demonstrations and serve as subject matter guide during meetings with prospective customers
* Stay ahead of product insight and research to improve value of offerings
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Food Science, Dairy Science, Food Engineering) or equivalent – Masters or PhD level is preferred but not essential
* Demonstrable experience in the Food Industry with Dairy / Dairy Alternatives (preferred) in a Technical Account Manager/Commercial capacity – We would actively consider other categories outside of Dairy
* Able to create and communicate value and solutions to team members and customers
