The Role We are looking to recruit a Generic Specialist Practitioner / Breast Cancer Nurse Specialist, to join the Cancer Services at University Hospital Wishaw. The successful candidate will manage a specialist caseload, using evidence-based practice and client centred principles, to assess, plan, implement care, provide expert advice and support, operating within a defined specialism across NHS Lanarkshire. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity, as well as contributing to the supervision, education and development of members of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide effective leadership within scope of role. What We'll Need You To Bring Registered Nurse or AHP with valid NMC / HCPC Registration Educated to Degree Level Post graduate qualification at a minimum of Level 10 (Hons) or working towards Expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice. Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice. Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery. Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills. Effective time management skills Working knowledge of basic information technology It would be good if you also had SACT/chemotherapy cours Non-medical prescribin Clinical assessment / examination skill Master’s Degree Experience of working with people affected by breast cancer Experience of working with a CNS team Experience of nurse led clinics Experience of MDT working Knowledge and understanding of the breast cancer patient pathway Knowledge and understanding of relevant cancer policies and strategies Knowledge and understanding of professional and educational frameworks in cancer nursing Advanced Communication Skills Audit and research skills Quality Improvement Skills Ability to work varied shifts Must be able to travel as NHS Lanarkshire rotational contract Looking to find out more?
