Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Maternal Medicine Centre Lead
Applications are invited for the consultant post in the Obstetric department. This is a full-time post created following a retirement.
Main duties of the job
This is a full-time, substantive post in response to a retirement. The successful applicant would join a team of 11 consultant Obstetricians delivering high-quality antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the existing team to provide tertiary care within the maternal medicine centre for those with pre-existing health conditions. The successful candidate is expected to lead the Norwich Regional Maternal Medicine Centre.

Full GMC with license to practice with entry onto the Specialist Register required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* Entry on the GMC Specialist Register Via; o CCT (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview) o CESR or o European Community Rights
* ATSM Advanced Labour Ward Practice
* ATSM Maternal Medicine
* ASM in Safe Practice in Abortion Care
* An appropriate higher qualification - MD, MSc
* Experience in Quality Improvement methodology
* APM Clinical Research
* Capable of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
* Enthusiasm for service development and teaching.
* Previous responsibility for service improvement
* Management skills (eg experience of coordinating rotas)
Experience
* Applicants who are Nationals from another European country or elsewhere overseas would have to show equivalence to the 7 years training period in the National Health Service required for the specialty
* Training and expertise in children's safeguarding
* Extensive obstetric experience able to perform all roles in the job description.
* Advanced Abortion Care Experience
* Experience in research or published papers in area of special interest
Interests
* Special interest in perinatal loss. Ability to further develop special interests.
Circumstances
* Flexible outlook on working hours.
* Must live within a 15-mile radius of the base Trust or 30 minutes travelling time.
* Full Driving License.
Communications and Language Skills
* Ability to communicate effectively with clinical colleagues, colleagues in pathology, and support staff
* Good knowledge of, and ability to use, spoken and written English
* Ability to present effectively to an audience, using a variety of methods, and to respond to questions and queries
