Process Engineer - Chemical Manufacturing - Worcestershire - Permanent A Process Engineer is required by our client, a leading defence organisation who manufacture niche, high value products based in the Worcestershire area. The Process Engineer will be technically and operationally responsible for a wide range of safe processes to create explosive products used on site for the manufacture of solid rocket propellants. This involves a number of sub - processes in different parts of the site and requires effective liaison with other manufacturing/test areas, especially in the manufacture of propellant liquid and paste Responsibilities for the Process Engineer will include: - Daily control of the energetic manufacturing processes - Process monitoring and analysis - Operating lab - scale processes and treatments - Specialist waste acid handling and disposal - Health, Safety and Environmental monitoring routines For the role of Process Engineer you will ideally have knowledge in the following areas: - Chemical processing using hazardous or toxic materials - Handling of hazardous and sensitive materials such as explosives - Technical aspects relating to the properties of explosives and propellants - Operation of plants on a pilot plant scale or production scale - Computer control of safety critical manufacturing processes - Inventory management and test clearance of materials - Scheduling to make and provide products and services into other areas - Technical basis for operational and process safety - Effective team - working and team leadership skills The Process Engineer should be educated to degree level or equivalent in chemistry or chemical engineering with a number of years\' experience in chemical process management and possess a strong foundation in \'wet analytical\' chemical techniques. A working knowledge of chemical safety and environmental impact is also essential.
