The National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) will transform the future of rehabilitation for people who have experienced injury or illness. Opening in Summer 2025, the NRC will be a new, purpose-built 70-bed facility which will be built on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough. It is co-located with the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre and will share some of the world class rehabilitation facilities. Thanks to an academic partnership led by the University of Nottingham and Loughborough University, research and innovation and training and education in rehabilitation will be embedded at the NRC and central to clinical practice.
We are looking for a dedicated and ambitious Team Leader / Charge Nurse to join this journey to rehabilitation excellence, transforming outcomes for patients. This post is integral to providing senior leadership to nursing and support teams at the NRC, taking ward manager responsibility for high quality, efficient, safe and compassionate care in a rehabilitation setting. If you were successful you would become a key part of shaping the service going forwards, paving the future of rehabilitation in the UK. Please note the post holder's base of work will be Linden Lodge, City Hospital, until the NRC opens in summer 2025.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will lead and support the nursing and support staff workforce at the NRC to enable high quality, safe and efficient patient care, whilst raising the profile of nurses in rehabilitation as part of our National ambition. This will include working within a team of three Team Leaders / Charge Nurses and in conjunction with an experienced multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist complex rehabilitation in an in-patient environment. The post holder will be supported by the Lead Nurse, alongside the wider NRC senior leadership team.

Person Specification
Training and qualifications
* Current level one NMC registration
* Degree in health / nursing related Studies
* Relevant post-basic study relevant to specialty
* Have a suitable Teaching & Assessing/Mentoring Qualification
* Formal leadership and management training
* Continuing professional development/ reflective profile in any of the following area; MSK / Neurology / Neurosurgery / Neuro rehabilitation / Major Trauma or Critical Care
* Research training/experience
Experience
* Experience to include management/leadership experience
* Supervision of non-registered staff, pre-registration and post basic students
* Ability to manage the clinical area or ward efficiently and effectively
* Ability to lead change and lead new ways of working
* Clinically excellent and able to demonstrate evidence of sound clinical practice

* Experience of delegating to and supervising other members of the team
