We are looking for empathetic and positive people to join the Starfyn Education Family in a long-term, full-time Teacher role! This is an exciting opportunity to join one of our schools based in Croydon. We are looking for a fully qualified SEN Teacher to cover Post 16. Our school supports young adults with complex and severe learning difficulties through a variety of different methods, such as supporting their sensory development and both verbal and non-verbal communication. A key focus is to provide learning experiences for students to be as independent as possible, gain skills, and prepare for adulthood.

The Role:
Employment Type - Agency (Either long-term Temporary or Temporary-Permanent).
Days Required - Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 4 pm (Full-time).
Pay to scale.
The Ideal Candidate:
To be considered for the role, the desirable candidate will have previous teaching experience working within a school, college, or provision. However, we will also consider candidates that have some of the following:
1. QTS is preferred.
2. Teaching experience in a complex SEN school.
3. Experience supporting children with Special Needs.
4. Child Care Experience - Through personal or professional experience.
5. Special needs experience - Experience through family, friends, or professional environments.
6. Great interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine, caring attitude.
7. An energetic attitude where you want to get involved wherever possible.
8. Flexibility with required working patterns.
9. A willingness to learn and a genuine enthusiasm to make a difference.
Your Main Duties:
1. Offer support for the school's students before, during, and after their lessons.
2. Aiding students with their understanding and participation in tasks.
3. Help promote each student's love of learning.
4. Actively take part in team meetings.
5. Always follow the regulations pertaining to safeguarding.
6. When required, support individuals' needs, including assisting with a wide range of medical and occasionally personal care tasks and physical support where needed (Training will be provided in giving medical care and support).
7. Working either on a 1:1 or group basis to support learning.
8. Inspiring and engaging with children with a wide range of additional learning needs.
9. Assisting with the personal care needs of pupils, which may include feeding, changing, and manual handling (TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL).
