DP World is currently recruiting for a Operations Supervisor to join our fast-paced automotive customer operation based in Wolverhampton. This role involves overseeing a section of the operation, managing team leaders and wider teams to meet KPIs, and collaborating with the customer to ensure operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure all team members adhere to safe working practices and implement risk assessments, safety walks, handling aids, and job rotations. Promote a zero-tolerance approach to safety deviations.
2. Manage succession planning and support cross-training to foster a multi-skilled workforce.
3. Plan manpower effectively daily, increase area versatility through training, manage headcount between permanent and temporary staff, and address performance issues promptly.
4. Investigate and document issues under disciplinary and grievance policies, including AIR investigations and employee disputes.
5. Maintain standard work and quality processes to ensure a 'Right First Time' product, with a focus on zero deviations from quality standards.
6. Complete audit requirements and document control across shifts.
7. Monitor and ensure completion of supervisor and team leader Lams.
8. Investigate customer concerns, identify root causes, and implement robust countermeasures.
9. Implement engineering changes, production trials, and pilot builds flawlessly, following the engineering change process.
10. Coordinate with maintenance to ensure timely closure of CCARs.
11. Ensure comprehensive shift handovers and participate in key meetings.
12. Manage the company's Time & Attendance system.
13. Eliminate external and internal quality defects with appropriate follow-up actions.
14. Reduce customer downtime by applying standard operating procedures.
15. Manage absence targets and monitor KPIs.
Your Key Skills:
1. Experience in process/continuous improvement in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
2. Supervisory or operations management experience in JIT, sequencing, or manufacturing settings.
3. Experience in customer-facing logistics or supply chain roles.
4. Background in production, materials, and quality control.
5. Proficiency in SAP.
