A highly respected and boutique legal 200 firm is looking for an experienced (6+ PQE) Employment Solicitor to join their top tier team, based in Reading. The team works at the highest level and is recognised in both the Chambers and Legal 500 directories, acting for both employers and employees on a good variety of contentious and non-contentious matters.
This firm prides itself on its good work/life balance, offering approximately 3 days a week from home. In addition, this position provides excellent progression up to Partnership over the next few years due to the current structure of the team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Solicitor looking to progress their career up to a senior level in an excellent team with some top-tier work.
Key Responsibilities:
* Acting on behalf of employers and senior executives,
* Advising on non-contentious employment issues including the drafting of employment documents (including contracts, staff handbooks, and settlement agreements), TUPE matters, corporate support of M&A matters, disciplinaries, and grievances,
* Advising on contentious employment issues including attendance in Tribunal and Court processes,
* Assisting with the management of the team, including supervision of other legal professionals and support staff,
* Working closely with team Partners for the development of the team and larger firm,
* Developing relationships with clients and building long-lasting relationships,
* Acting with a degree of autonomy (while receiving appropriate support).
Desired Skills and Experience:
* UK qualified Employment Solicitor with 6+ years PQE (other levels will be considered),
* Demonstrated track record of high-quality employment law experience, ideally within a nationally or internationally recognised firm,
* Technically strong in advising clients in a variety of contentious and non-contentious employment matters,
* Having strong experience in advising employer clients is essential, with experience advising senior private individuals (senior employees) being desirable,
* Being a team player with strong communication skills,
* Self-motivated with the ability to achieve minimum time targets and billing requirements.
