As a UPS Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of all UPS systems, which are within the Hydrogen Power Units. You’ll service, maintain, calibrate, fault find and repair UPSs across the UK (and internationally) both on customer sites and at facilities (Newcastle, High Marnham), as well as work with the R&D team to develop and implement engineering changes for improved performance and reliability of the system. A mix of site and office work will be required.
Responsibilities include:
* Conduct service, maintenance, testing and calibration activities on our UPSs, which are integrated in our HPU fleet – both on customer and internal premises.
* Fault diagnosis, testing and repairs on UPSs, batteries, switchgear, control systems and associated critical electrical / mechanical equipment.
* Carry out load bank testing, site surveys, investigations and inspections of UPS, batteries, switchgear, control systems, generators and associated electrical / mechanical equipment.
* Ability to write maintenance reports.
* Clear understanding of safe working practices and ensure our companies’ Health & Safety policies are upheld.
* Can demonstrate technical excellence, exceptional attention to detail and pride in quality of work.
* Ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
* Frequent travel to sites in the UK & Worldwide needed.
* Flexible working, as some repairs may be required out of core office hours.
* Ability to self-define priorities, whilst managing both office and onsite tasks.
Qualifications and Experience:
* At least 5 years’ experience working on UPS systems.
* Must be a qualified Electrician or Degree qualified electrical engineer/related subject.
* Be able to demonstrate excellent technical knowledge of UPS systems.
* In-depth knowledge of electrical fault finding.
* Excellent communication and fault-finding skills.
* ECS Gold Card desireable
