Job Introduction
The Manager is responsible for leading their team, upholding the client's reputation, and ensuring exceptional homecare services that empower customers to live independently and make their own choices. Key duties include overseeing daily business operations, managing resources efficiently, and monitoring performance to deliver quality services within budget. The role involves providing clear leadership, defining roles and responsibilities, and supporting staff to ensure safe and effective work practices.
Main Responsibilities
As a Registered Manager your duties and responsibilities will be:
1. Oversee the safety and quality standards of the business.
2. Ensure the safe and compliant delivery of services in accordance with legislative requirements, company policies, and procedures.
3. Engage in ongoing training and development to stay current with legal requirements, best practices, and company updates, applying this knowledge to daily operations and care delivery.
4. Monitor and uphold health and safety standards both in the workplace and the field, serving as the lead for infection prevention and control.
5. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records and reporting systems to meet legal obligations and support efficient business operations.
6. Implement and manage quality assurance and improvement systems. Handle complaints and incidents effectively, conducting investigations to identify areas for improvement and drive service enhancements.
7. Work flexibly as needed to ensure the safe and consistent delivery of services.
The Ideal Candidate
Training and qualifications required
1. Comprehensive understanding of the needs of individuals requiring care and support at home, along with the delivery of homecare services aligned with best practices.
2. Strong knowledge of the principles of high-quality, person-centred care, and non-discriminatory care practices.
3. Clear understanding of the regulatory responsibilities of a Registered Manager and relevant laws governing domiciliary care services.
4. Possession of S/NVQ Level 5 qualification or equivalent, or willingness to pursue a relevant management qualification.
5. Familiarity with systems and protocols for maintaining confidentiality regarding customers, staff, and business operations.
6. Awareness of health and safety requirements in homecare services, including risk management practices.
7. Knowledge of identifying signs of abuse and implementing safeguarding procedures effectively.
8. Managed team operations, led projects, and ensured performance targets were met, even at a deputy capacity.
