Here at South Tees Trust we have a fantastic opportunity for a combined role band 7 Nurse Injector / Eye casualty Nurse to join our team in our Ophthalmology Casualty and Retinal Therapy Unit.
There may be an opportunity to join initially as a band 6 and develop into a band 7 role if you can demonstrate the correct skill set. You will need to have a keen understanding and experience in the Ophthalmology setting, particularly in Eye Casualty and Retinal Therapy.
Working in the Eye Casualty, you will deliver high safe standards of clinical care for patients, using advanced knowledge and skills to develop and promote evidence-based practice, working in a department with an unpredictable workload. Utilising clinical judgement and decision making, you will undertake a history and assessment of patients within the eye casualty - making a diagnosis, planning treatment and care, then managing the referral and transfer or discharge of the patient. You will demonstrate capability in practice while adapting to and sometimes challenging situations.
Within the Medical Retina Unit, the postholder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team caring for patients with conditions requiring intra-vitreal and Anti-VEGF injections. We are seeking a compassionate and caring nurse who will work closely with the senior team to deliver outstanding care.
Main duties of the job
Do you have the determination, willingness, and drive to develop your ophthalmic knowledge, clinical ability, and leadership style?
We are in search of a candidate who can offer added value to our existing team. You will share our passion for patient-centred care, a willingness to work within a multi-disciplinary team, providing innovative, efficient, joined-up care to our patients, whilst continuing with further development of our services.
Once competencies are achieved and skill set completed, the successful candidate will support and demonstrate strong leadership skills to be part of the team of band 7 Nurse Practitioners who want to take ownership of the service, maintaining standards of patient-centred care to our already remarkably busy service.
If you are a person who will demonstrate and aim for excellent patient experience, an enthusiasm for personal and professional development, and a keen understanding of the full role of a Band 7 Nurse Practitioner, we want to hear from you.
