About the Role:
We are looking for a Senior KYC Analyst to join our dynamic Financial Crime Team, who will play a critical role in safeguarding our business from financial crime risk whilst mentoring a small team.
You will oversee a team responsible for ongoing customer monitoring, sanctions screening, payment approvals and transaction monitoring. You will be the key escalation point for the team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of Analysts to ensure high-quality performance.
* Allocating tasks effectively, overseeing workflows, and ensuring adherence to SLAs.
* Fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the team.
* Supporting Financial Crime Manager by resolving or routing escalations, where required, in an efficient manner.
* Conducting screening of payment and high-risk transactions against relevant sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media lists. Make recommendations on actions to be undertaken including enhanced due diligence checks.
* Analysing high-risk transactions in line with KYC collected at onboarding and escalate potential suspicious activity to the Financial Crime Manager and/or MLRO.
Who are we looking for?
* A strong track record in a Financial Crime function, at a financial services/payments firm, with a good understanding of AML/CFT/Sanctions regulations, particularly those applicable to the UK financial services industry.
* Awareness of Financial Crime trends and challenges across the industry, and a keen interest in developments in this space, including across AI and technology.
* Experience dealing with fraud desirable.
* Experience working within a fast-paced environment with a collaborative team.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
