Key Responsibilities
1. Create and maintain the Product Roadmap - HR, Finance and Commercial Solutions
2. Remain up to date on best practices and industry standards for technology to support shared services delivery by creating and maintaining relationships with external software owners and similar organisations.
3. Understand the priorities through extensive collaboration and negotiation.
4. Analyse customer feedback to understand pain points and frustrations to drive out improved solutions that gain the right outcomes.
5. Use data to understand trends, compliance, usage etc. to create opportunities for improvements that matter most.
6. Balance the needs of multiple groups of stakeholders and assess these against overall priorities and available resources.
7. Document and present technology proposals/recommendations to senior leaders/board that provide clear benefits and costs from which a decision can be made.
8. Translate strategic and complex needs into tangible recommendations and subsequent solutions.
9. Drive continuous improvement in technical solutions that support priorities.
Implementation of the Product Roadmap
1. Oversee the design, development and implementation of the Product roadmap ensuring benefits from investment are achieved and customer satisfaction is maintained or exceeded by;
2. Developing and embedding robust project management processes to support the product life cycle; from improvement identification to implementation and ultimately to decommissioning if appropriate, developing appropriate controls and governance throughout.
3. Working closely with senior leads to ensure the impacts of product development upon services are known and understood to enable plans for mitigation and support to be put in place to minimise disruption at transition and increase adoption.
4. Ensuring project/sprint plans are developed, resourced, and managed with appropriate checkpointing arrangements in place ensuring delivery to time, cost and quality.
5. Create a culture of robust risk management and quality controls that underpin the day-to-day delivery activities.
Leading the Product Teams
1. Create an environment where trust and open communication is encouraged, giving everyone a voice to be creative and work as a single cohesive team.
2. Demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to managing change and ambiguity, ensuring this culture is driven throughout their teams.
3. Provide guidance, support, and mentoring to their teams; including career development and ensuring professional accreditation for key positions.
4. Foster a culture of high performance, innovation and continuous improvement embracing company values.
5. Horizon scan and ensure knowledge of market industry technology is current and seek opportunities to ensure HR, finance and commercial solutions deliver the best services.
6. Review team's service performance via service metrics and measures and identify ways to reduce cost and improve ways of working.
7. Create a culture that seeks innovation to overcome problems and drive forward better customer experiences.
8. Role model excellent behaviours and set goals to drive performance across their teams and with suppliers and promptly address poor behaviour where necessary.
9. Drive cultural change to remove silos, set corporate standards and promote inclusivity.
10. Display leadership and create a vision for the product team, underpinning purpose, vision and long-term strategy.
Supplier Management
1. Oversee the management of partners, both internal and external, supporting the delivery of the product roadmap by;
2. Setting and agreeing clear ways of working and expectations with all suppliers from the outset.
3. Being commercially minded throughout the engagement and having a deep understanding of the contractual obligations of all parties to ensure behaviours and accountabilities are fully understood.
4. Building strong relationships with suppliers to support the multi-partnership approach to identifying and delivering innovative solutions.
5. Promptly addressing risks/issues affecting successful and commercial binding outcomes.
6. Ensuring supplier deliverables are delivered on time to the right quality, and addressing failures proactively using the appropriate channels.
Experience:
1. 8+ years in Products, including 2-3 years of managing Product Teams and influencing business strategy within an enterprise-wide or Shared Services operations; Public Sector experience is desirable; policing experience is desirable.
2. Detailed knowledge of Oracle ERP Cloud technology supporting Back Office services.
3. Experience in market evaluations/assessments for technology supporting Back Office services (e.g. HR, finance, commercial).
4. Experience in project management of technology development and implementations.
5. Experience of managing a team of individuals providing clear direction, support and resolution.
6. Experience in shaping product strategy, product delivery capabilities and product life cycle processes.
7. Experience in creating technology strategies and roadmaps aligned to business strategies.
8. Experience in leading the development and implementation of HR, Finance and Commercial technical solutions.
9. Strong business transformation skills encompassing people, processes, and systems.
10. Ability to identify dependencies, assess risks and put effective risk mitigation plans in place.
11. Ability to build strong networks and relationships across the organisation.
12. Practical knowledge of core end-to-end services covering Commercial, Finance and HR scope of services.
13. Knowledge of public sector shared services and the challenges they face.
