Role Overview:
The Assistant Management Accountant is an ideal role for anyone looking for quick career progression within the finance team through nurturing your development in accounting whilst gaining an understanding of how an IT business operates within finance.
What skills and working characteristics should this person have?
* 2+ years working in a finance team, ideally within the Tech sector (not essential)
* Demonstrable experience within management accounts
* Have started their accountancy qualifications, CIMA, ACCA, or AAT
* Excellent working with numbers
* Able to demonstrate where they've improved processes and added value
* Looking to grow and develop with a growing business
* Enjoys working as part of a team
* Advanced Excel skills
* BC experience ideal, but not essential
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
* Supporting the Head of Finance throughout the month-end process
* Posting month-end journals including prepayments, accruals, and revenue adjustments - accrued and deferred income.
* Maintaining and reviewing the Fixed Asset register to ensure all assets comply with company policy - including setting up new assets, running depreciation and monthly reconciliations.
* Reconciling and reviewing all Balance Sheet accounts and posting any adjustments as required
* Variance analysis on month-end reports
* Assisting and reviewing bank reconciliations
* Supporting with the payroll process, reviewing the monthly payroll reports for accuracy, and posting the necessary entries
* Posting daily transactions in BC
* Supporting both the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable process
* Dealing with customer and supplier queries
* Preparing various reports, both monthly and adhoc, for the Head of Finance
* Helping in the setting of annual budgets and forecasts
* Identifying areas to add value and implementing system/process improvements.
£30,000 - £35,000 a year
