Role Summary:
The Associate Cyber Security Consultant provides foundational cybersecurity support, assisting with security posture reviews, basic risk assessments, and ongoing monitoring using SIEM tools (IBM QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, Google Security Operations). This is an operational support role, focused on learning industry standards (e.g., NIST CSF) and maintaining client documentation. Candidates must have demonstrated customer-facing experience (can be outside cybersecurity).
Core Responsibilities:
* Support and maintain effective communication with clients through regular updates.
* Assist in organizing weekly Security Operations (SecOps) meetings.
* Review and triage basic security incidents, service integrations, and event logs.
* Manage service requests related to client onboarding and operational tasks.
* Contribute to monitoring security controls and identifying potential gaps.
* Document network and security architecture accurately.
* Ensure timely deliverables in line with SLAs.
* Support creation and testing of basic use cases within SIEM tools (QRadar/Sentinel/GSP).
Required Technical Skills:
* Foundational knowledge of the application of cybersecurity frameworks (For Example NIST CSF).
* Basic proficiency with SIEM solutions (IBM QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel, Google Security Operations).
* Familiarity with common cyber threats, attack vectors, and basic security concepts.
* Risk Management principles and concepts.
* Awareness of cloud security principles (AWS/Azure/GCP) within managed services contexts.
