About the role
You will be required to work in partnership with the Executive Principal (EP), CEO, governors, staff and key stakeholders to ensure the continuous improvement of the school and the Trust.
You will be responsible for leading and managing the school day, specific tasks and the leadership of whole school aspects, which will be determined from time to time in consultation with the EP.
Main expectations of the role:
1. SHAPING THE FUTURE
o Support the EP, CEO and governors in the future development of the school and Academy.
o Lead on quality of education, Personal Development, Behaviour and Attitudes and outcomes for your provision.
o Lead by example. Work to a high standard in implementing agreed policies, priorities and expectations.
o Promote wellbeing and a culture of teamwork, in which the views of all members of the school community are valued and taken into account.
o Lead the development and co-ordination of a meaningful CPD process.
o Ensure pupil premium funding is tracked and impactful.
o Lead on operational structures, including timetable, duties and rotas.
2. LEADING LEARNING AND TEACHING
o Be accountable for the highest quality teaching through the monitoring of teaching and learning and the implementation of improvement strategies.
o Identify and challenge underperformance and ensure appropriate and effective support is provided.
o Ensure robust monitoring systems are in place, any issues are swiftly addressed and the EP notified. Monitoring to inform future training for whole staff and specific individuals.
o Establish creative, responsive and effective approaches to learning and teaching. Take a strategic role in the development of new and emerging technologies to enhance and extend the learning experience of pupils.
o Address and rapidly improve teaching and learning when issues are raised by any inspection and/or any stakeholder.
o Take responsibility for target setting and assessment across the school.
o Use data pro-actively to improve practice and outcomes for students.
3. DEVELOPING SELF AND WORKING WITH OTHERS
o Lead the creation of a positive school ethos and culture, in which every individual is treated with dignity and respect and the safety and welfare of children and young people is paramount.
o Lead the development of collaborative approaches to learning within the campus, across the academy and beyond.
o Identify any potential HR issues early and swiftly, document concerns, support staff to improve and follow HR advice.
o Improve the induction process in relation to new staff.
o Set the highest expectations for your own performance and that of others.
o Engage in relevant professional development activity as necessary, with due consideration for the safe and effective running of the school.
