Wood is currently recruiting for a Project Estimator to join our Shell EPC Contract. This position will be supporting the contract across our Projects and Modifications Portfolio. The EPC Contract is well Established, with a broad and exciting portfolio of long-term scopes, secured across multiple onshore and offshore assets.
The position will report to the contract lead estimator and will work closely with project management, technical departments and wider project controls team. The role will have regular client interfacing, including interaction with client estimating team.
We can offer this position as staff permanent, fixed term or LTD.
Job Objective:
1. The position will report to the contract lead estimator and will work closely with project management, technical departments and wider project controls team. The role will have regular client interfacing, including interaction with client estimating team.
2. Preparation, review, and submission of accurate estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with services. This ensures accurate budgeting and planning can take place, supports the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle to ensure the project can be delivered profitably.
3. Responsible for the development of project estimates and ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
4. Supports more senior members of the estimating team in the management and development of the estimating team, the management of the contract or project estimating norms and the preparation and filing of project estimate documentation.
5. May act as the focal point for several project scopes. Working with wider team for identifying areas of best practise and driving continuous improvement within the Estimating team.
Qualifications:
6. Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
7. Progressive industry experience in estimating positions.
8. Thorough knowledge of estimating techniques and systems with a detailed knowledge of how these are applied.
9. Excellent understanding of project management principles and techniques.
10. Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
11. Prior experience in a Senior Estimating role.
