The team Hempsons’ seven-strong client services team is led by head of client services Graeme Trigg. The team works alongside partners and fee earners to develop new and existing business across our healthcare, social care and charity sectors. The team is therefore key to enabling the firm to reach the series of ambitious growth targets we have set ourselves for the coming years. The role This is an important role for the client services team and firmwide, working alongside client services team colleagues to deliver marketing and business development advice and support to partners across our GP, corporate healthcare, regulatory and digital healthcare sectors. This role can be based alongside client services colleagues in our Harrogate or Manchester offices. In the normal course of events, this post does not carry entitlement to overtime. However, the role may require additional hours to be worked outside of normal office hours and may also require travel to the firm’s other offices. Responsibilities The marketing and business development assistant will work alongside one of the department’s business development specialists to support a range of our key target business sectors. The marketing and business development assistant will provide support on a wide range of marketing and business development activities including: • providing a wide range of assistance and support including monitoring email mailboxes, formatting quotes/photographs, and coordinating photographer visits, invoicing, organising couriers, liaising with caterers, updating events and training calendars and collating feedback forms, analysing and reporting on ROI, delegate confirmations, delegate packs, badge production • drafting and posting social media posts and distributing electronic communications to clients and contacts eg newsflashes and invitations including building appropriate mailings lists from the marketing database for each communication • updating the firm’s website as needed including managing events and news pages, fee earner web profiles, and sector/service content • updating the firm’s website as needed including managing events and news pages, fee earner web profiles, and sector/service content • designing and formatting marketing collateral eg team sheets, service flyers, agendas • supporting client services team colleagues in analysing and reporting on ROI • supporting client services team colleagues on the webinar programme for a number of the firm’s target business sectors (plus others as required from time to time), including diary management, coordinating speakers, technical run throughs, mailings, confirmations, and running the logistical side of the webinars on the day follow-up etc • supporting client services colleagues on face-to-face events in the office in which the role is based, offering logistical support to London and other offices as needed, including liaising with front of house colleagues • supporting client services colleagues on external conference planning including preparing and setting up exhibition stands, logistics, hotel bookings, coordinating marketing collateral and promotional material, and attending when needed • operating on the rota for following up incoming web enquiries and ensuring communications are directed to the appropriate person and responded to • preparing exhibition stands and ensuring that marketing collateral and promotional material is available in sufficient quantities at exhibitions and conferences • identifying sources for promotional products for exhibitions and conferences, negotiating, ordering and maintaining stocks • sourcing and managing external printing of marketing collateral, monitoring stock levels and coordinating for display within the reception areas • taking the lead role in maintaining the firm’s contacts databases (Nemo and Binley’s) to ensure all contact information is up to date and kept in line with regulatory requirements • updating our external training calendar and presentations repository which is maintained by sending a monthly email to all FEs • covering for client services team colleagues from time to time, particularly the marketing and business development coordinator Essential skills • practical and confident working with all Hempsons staff including partners • good communication and organisational skills • good attention to detail • ability to work within a team • strong IT skills in Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel • strong understanding of online marketing and web admin Hempsons is an equal opportunities employer Hempsons is committed to providing equal opportunities for all and to encouraging diversity through recruitment.
