We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and motivated pharmacist to join the existing Clinical Pharmacy team within the IBD speciality for 10 months. This is a temporary maternity leave post and will be based within the South Sector of NHSGGC but there will be cross-cover working involved with Clyde and North sectors when necessary. This post is primarily outpatient based.
The focus of this post will be to provide specialist clinical pharmacy support to the Outpatient IBD service NHSGGC. The post holder will continue to develop the advanced therapy therapeutic drug monitoring and de-escalation clinics within the South sector, managing a case load of their own patients and lead the pharmacy IBD team across all sectors of NHSGGC (alongside the 8a in Clyde).
The post will lead on any cost saving in initiatives and working closely with the MDT contribute to the monitoring and development of prescribing protocols for existing and newly introduced high-cost medicines. This post will require an enthusiastic, committed individual with excellent communication, multi-disciplinary team-working and time management skills to ensure the delivery of both patient-centred pharmaceutical care and delivery of cost-effective prescribing strategies for NHSGGC. The post holder must be registered with the GPhC, hold a post-graduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience and must be a registered independent pharmacist prescriber.
