Job summary
Reporting to the Procurement Category Manager, the Commercial Assistant is a member of the Procurement and PMO team responsible for supporting Category Managers and Category Specialists in the development, implementation, management, and performance of sourcing strategies, procurement projects including tenders and requests for quotes, and contract performance management and supplier relationship plans across the business, to achieve value improvement targets, and meet specific business requirements of defined procurements and ensuring this is aligned in support of the wider corporate goals of the Port of Dover.
You will own reporting and analysis of spend for the procurement organisation. You will also be responsible for managing transactional processes & champion transactional excellence.
Skills and Qualifications
1. GCSE standard Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
2. Previous development/construction/ purchasing related document control and/or commercial administration role
3. Data input/look-up within ERP/Accounting software, along with data analysis
4. Track record of working in a similar position pursuing and coordinating information between multiple stakeholders to strict deadlines
5. High level of competence in MS Office applications, especially Excel
6. Confident in presenting information with clarity and purpose
7. Understanding of either purchasing, project controls or finance systems such as Oracle
