Coral Ward is looking for a motivated and passionate leader for our Charge Nurse position.

We have a strong multi-professional team on the ward with positive working relationships between colleagues across Langley Green Hospital, including our acute wards, older adults ward, PICU, Home Treatment Team, Haven, Acute Day Service and in-house Occupational Therapy and Psychology.
We are looking for a Charge Nurse who is a strong leader and has a passion for innovation and change in our dynamic nursing team. As a Charge Nurse, you will work closely with the Ward Manager and Matron to lead on change projects to promote the workplace as a learning environment. You will develop the nursing team to ensure that they are enabled to provide the best possible care to our patients.
Our focus is to provide the highest quality patient care, and we are committed to promoting our Trust Values in everything we do:
People first: People are at the heart of everything we do.
Future focused: We are optimistic, we learn, and we always try to improve.

Working together: We provide services in partnership with patients, families, and others.
Everyone counts: We value, appreciate, and respect each other.
Main duties of the job
We have been named 'Caring Coral' in light of the innovative and creative ways we go above and beyond to strive to deliver the highest quality care for our service users and are always open to new ideas to improve our service.
Shifts whilst working on the ward follow a 12-hour shift pattern, and we can offer flexibility with both day and night shifts.
You will be expected to split your duties between supporting your team and ward clinically as well as supporting your ward manager with delegated managerial tasks and regular management days.
You will be expected to complete supervisions and appraisals, managerial audits, attend leadership and managerial meetings, and lead as an example to more junior staff within the Coral Ward Team.
This post offers the Trust's £4,000 Incentive for band 5-7 Nurses & Practitioners, as well as a relocation package up to a maximum of £8,000 (subject to terms and conditions).
About us
You would be supported to complete CPD courses, encouraged to seek development opportunities and training, alongside regular supervision, as well as providing senior nurse input on the ward. We are also very keen to embrace further quality improvement projects and have projects running already, but we are keen for further ideas to be explored and for nurses to lead on these. We will also support staff to complete nurse prescribing and attain Associate clinician status.
Coral Ward is one of the leading wards in the Trust for sensory and autism projects and currently we are proud that our new Sensory Room, with evidence-based sensory interventions, is now up and running on the ward. We are looking for someone with an interest in Quality Improvement to support us with these projects.
We encourage flexible working. We know that a positive work/life balance brings about huge health-related benefits, which has a positive impact on the care we provide. Please speak to us about flexible working, for example, home-working, part-time hours, flexible start/finish times, or anything else. If it works for you and works for the role, we'll do our best to make it happen.
