Manage the Assembly WIP stock on the assembly storage slab, keeping it organised and safe. Work with the assembly leadership team to provide the assembly teams with product and consumables as required. Deliver finished products to the required warehouse location.
Key accountabilities:
* Ensure product packing standards are met in line with BOM and that all boxes are stamped.
* Ensure all relevant data is captured on appropriate system (e.g. timesheet, scrap sheets, checks sheets).
* Ensure product is assembled and packed in accordance with PI sheets.
* Select and print descriptive labels to appropriate products/bags/cartons as per BOM.
* Ensure quality standards are met at all times and raise any issues accordingly with Team Leader.
* Ensure that the working area, WIP holding area and Tent is safe, clean, and organised at all times.
* Take cost-effective decisions to support departmental performance when store/move parts on WIP holding area.
* Ensure that you are using the correct equipment, you are fully trained, and it is safe to use.
* Undertake other duties within the department as requested by Team Leader including cover for Moulding/Bagging/Assembly personnel where required.
* Ensure all waste products are separated into the correct bins and notify the team leader of quantity and defects. Dispose of broken pallets or any other waste to the designated area.
* Ensure all WIP stock is safely and efficiently located and stocks are known in order to meet the demands of the second ops and assembly teams.
* Complete stock checks for the component parts received from Warehouse/Manufacturing as required, highlighting any stock inaccuracies to the team leader.
* Deliver component parts from/to WIP holding area, Warehouse, Tent to the Assembly Department and move finished products to the Tent.
* Transfer data onto relevant systems IFS, Excel. The data to be recorded is production booking, downtime, scrap, and quality checks.
* Book finished products onto the IFS system where a move ticket is generated, placed onto the palletised product.
* Move products on MHE to/from work in progress (WIP) or finished goods to holding area.
* Train new colleagues on relevant SSW, TBT, CIP and provide them with instructions to perform their duties efficiently and safely.
* Actively participate in improvement activities such as Kaizen (continuous improvement) and 6S activities and demonstrate savings.
* Knowledge of H&S and Environmental requirements (SISI, incident reports etc).
* Drive company values and promote an environment of continuous improvement.
* Wherever possible ensure continuous improvement is undertaken.
Person Specification:
* Capable of working within a high demand, fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* High attention to detail.
* Reliable and committed with good timekeeping.
* Meets or exceeds output standards.
* Ability to use the Bag Machine or any other machinery in a safe manner as per training provided.
* Willingness to learn to use any other equipment if required.
* Ability to use Manual Handling Equipment (FLT, Pivot steer, PPT) in a safe manner.
* Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team.
* Flexible and willing to undertake roles as trained/requested.
* Ability to use IFS or similar MRP systems.
* Knowledge of 6S and other C.I. tools and experience running projects using these tools.
* Ability to read and follow written or verbal instructions and work to the required standards.
