Ultimate Recruitment have a vacancy for a Transport Control Tower Supervisor for our client in Haddenham you will oversee and coordinate multiple vehicle deliveries during night shifts (Tuesday to Saturday, 6 PM to 4 AM). This role requires strong administrative, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage operations under pressure while ensuring efficiency and service quality. The successful candidate will focus on cost management, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in a dynamic logistics environment. Key Responsibilities: Coordination & Control of Deliveries : Manage and oversee multiple vehicle deliveries, ensuring schedules and deadlines are adhered to. Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to resolve any issues or delays. Ensure dispatching of vehicles aligns with operational priorities and customer needs. Maintain communication with all stakeholders, providing real-time updates and addressing potential problems. Work closely with warehouse teams and third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers. Administrative Support : Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including schedules, routes, and costs. Complete necessary documentation, including delivery confirmations, vehicle logs, and invoices. Use transport management systems (TMS, VIGO, EDC) to track deliveries and resources and to generate performance reports. Produce reports on delivery performance, cost analysis, and operational efficiency. Operational Planning & Policy Implementation : Develop and implement operational policies and standards for efficiency and compliance with regulations. Adjust operational plans as necessary to meet business goals, service levels, and customer expectations. Continuously review and improve operational processes to enhance productivity. Cost Management & Optimization : Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising service quality. Collaborate with finance and procurement teams on cost-saving initiatives and ensure budget compliance. Assess and recommend technology or equipment upgrades for better cost-efficiency and service. Health & Safety & Compliance : Ensure transport operations meet health and safety regulations and industry standards. Stay updated on changes in legislation or industry best practices, and ensure compliance. Promote a safe working environment by aligning operational activities with company health and safety policies. Forklift Operations (Desirable) : Operate forklifts to assist with vehicle loading/unloading if necessary (training provided if needed). Ensure warehouse operations are carried out safely according to guidelines. Essential Skills & Qualifications: Administrative Skills : Strong organizational and attention-to-detail abilities. Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication, with coordination across multiple teams. Coordination Skills : Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deliveries effectively. IT Literacy : Proficiency with transport management systems, Microsoft Office, and other digital platforms. Familiarity with fleet management software is beneficial. Planning & Problem-Solving : Ability to anticipate and resolve operational issues and make sound decisions. Cost Management : Experience with controlling costs while maintaining high-quality service. Forklift License (Desirable) : A forklift license is preferred for hands-on tasks, though training is available. Experience : Previous experience in transport control, logistics, or fleet management is ideal. Additional Information: The position includes a salary of £38,000, plus a £3,800 night/Fri/Sat shift allowance. Night Shift : The role is based on a night shift pattern (Tuesday to Saturday, 6 PM - 4 AM).
