A bit about me:
I am a 40-year-old male, I live with my wife in Enham Alamein along with my pet fish! I have a great sense of humour and a love of sports. I am an electric wheelchair user which I operate through two switches and speak through a computer attached to the front of my wheelchair due to my cerebral palsy. I have a live-in carer who supports me with my day-to-day needs.
About the role:
Although I already have an amazing live-in carer, I am now looking for an additional PA who could support me to live my personal and social life according to my wishes and interests by driving me to medical appointments, visits to my family and to take me out to clubs and on outings. My live-in carer would always accompany me on these trips and there may be some occasions when my wife, who is also a wheelchair user, would be involved too.
I am looking for someone who would be able to drive me to the various venues in my Peugeot Boxer Vehicle which is specially adapted for my electric wheelchair. Therefore, I require someone who is a confident, safe driver with a clean driving licence.
In addition, I would like someone who would be happy to help me with the care of the fish tank! This would involve cleaning out the small tank occasionally to keep the water clean and healthy for the fish.
The kind of person I am looking for:
I am keen to find someone with a good sense of humour along with someone who has:
Patience and respects confidentiality
The ability to see past my physical disability
Is good at building relationships, a good communicator and a good listener
Is computer literate
The ability to support people with behaviours which challenge.
