The Role
Our client, a successful and award-winning manufacturing business, is seeking an experienced Management Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial operations and contribute to financial strategies in an interim capacity. This temporary role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact by ensuring accurate financial management and developing robust financial systems. Reporting to senior management, you will lead the finance function and oversee the Accounts Assistant.
1. Preparing monthly management accounts and providing variance analysis against budgets.
2. Managing monthly accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations.
3. Overseeing credit control and monitoring bad debts.
4. Managing and processing payroll, including supplier payments.
5. Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT reconciliations, including postponed VAT transactions.
6. Maintaining accurate cash flow forecasts and updating quarterly forecasts.
7. Managing the fixed asset register and producing costing, margin, and dashboard reports.
8. Reviewing and managing customer and supplier agreements, including monitoring supplier rebates.
9. Developing and continuously improving financial systems and procedures.
10. Liaising with external accountants for year-end processes and R&D tax credits.
11. Monitoring and maintaining costing and pricing tools within the business.
12. Supporting strategic financial planning and forecasting for the company.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, including experience in forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Proficiency in financial systems and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are highly desirable. This role could suit someone who has worked as an Accountant, Interim Finance Manager, or Management Accountant.
