Job description
The Head of Property Investment has leadership responsibility for the development and delivery of the DVSA Estates capital and revenue investment programme.� The post holder is required to provide the professional leadership, support and advice and guidance expected of an experienced property and project manager whilst supporting the delivery of DVSA�s Estates Strategy, a planned maintenance programme and DVSA led initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Lead the design and build of the DVSA Estate�s Investment programme including the planned preventative maintenance programme and forward maintenance register.
2. Execute management responsibilities effectively, working with, leading and acting as a role model for team members and colleagues, ensuring capabilities to achieve successful delivery of business performance whilst maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial resources delegated in line with the Civil Service values.
3. Manage capital and revenue investment budgets for property refurbishments and planned and unplanned works.
4. Manage all planned works programmes including health and safety programmes of works to DVSA estate. Ensure all compliance with all property related Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
5. Providing expert advice, support and challenge to DVSA Directors, managers and budget holders and to other parts of the business on Estates, sustainable development, sustainability and investment in property.

Person specification
To thrive in this role, you will need to be able to evidence the following skills and experience:
6. Project management experience and skills in relation to property related projects.
7. Experience in delivering property works projects including planned and unplanned works, property maintenance and refurbishment projects.
8. Detailed experience and knowledge of property legislation, estate management, property development, project management etc.
9. Proven resource management skills � financial, personnel and property related.
10. Proven ability to communicate effectively in a variety of formats at all levels, with excellent report writing skills.

Additional Information
This role can be based in Nottingham, Bristol, or Newcastle where your presence at this location will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you.�
There will be occasional travel required with this role to other DVSA locations,�including overnight stays.
We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our�expectation�is that you will spend a minimum�60% of your time at your base location.�Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
