What's involved with this role: Interim Senior Property Lawyer Bolton 0009 C68A / 1 Pay Rate: Up to £37.00 per hour PAYE depending on experience Please note the pay rate is provisional only and the ad will be amended with the confirmed rate, once received. Remote working may be possible, but would prefer hybrid. Key Requirements: Solicitor or Barrister or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. An in-depth knowledge of local government law with a particular emphasis on and significant experience of complex cases and issues in property, regeneration, compulsory purchase, licensing, contracts, procurement, highways and employment law. Ability to operate effectively in a sensitive political environment. Ability to work efficiently with information technology in support of casework Ability to develop other areas of legal expertise within the department as necessary. This role provides superb exposure to a diverse range of property matters dealing with public sector land holdings. Regeneration and project work including public/private partnership arrangements, development agreements, commercial property matters, including high value and high-profile transactions. Key Responsibilities: Undertake and manage a complex personal legal work caseload and as part of a team in accordance with the strategic aims of the council. Identify and provide training and development for staff for which the post holder is responsible. Manage effectively the members of the team. Deputise for the Principal Lawyer as necessary. Work effectively with other officers as necessary to achieve the successful implementation of the council’s objectives. Provide advice and effectively conduct complex legal matters including those relating to property, regeneration, compulsory purchase, licensing, contracts, procurement, highways and employment law.
