Groupage Manager Salary : £45,000 per annum 45 hour week paid, 20 days holiday PA, plus bank holidays Location : Haddenham About the Role: An excellent understanding of the UK network and knowledge of "Freight Forwarding/ Freight Exchange/ Haulage Exchange platforms. A crucial part of the role is sourcing and managing outbound and backloads for the branch to ensure all lanes are fully utilised with our LOAD department. Other duties will include general office support and administrative skills (raising jobs when booking, adding waiting times to update the relevant portals), as well as working with our Southern depot from a collaboration perspective. In essence, the Groupage Manager is to handle these challenges. The candidate will need a combination of technical knowledge, soft skills like problem-solving and communication, and a good understanding of the latest transportation technology and trends. Our Groupage Manager is a key player in our operations, crucial in coordinating the movement of goods and ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of products or materials. Their primary responsibilities include optimising transportation routes, ensuring compliance with transportation regulations, and coordinating with various stakeholders to guarantee timely and safe deliveries. Experience Needed: Cost Management: Monitor transportation costs, identify areas of improvement, and implement strategies to reduce costs without compromising on service quality. Continuous Improvement: In this role, you will be at the forefront of the industry, constantly keeping up with best practices and introducing new methods or technologies to improve transportation processes. Compliance and Safety: You will be responsible for ensuring that all transportation activities comply with Eu & WTD regulations and implementing safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of our team and the safe delivery of our products. Route Planning: Organise and plan the most efficient routes for drivers, ensuring that deliveries are made promptly and resources are utilised effectively. The ideal candidate for this role must have a solid background in logistics haulage, planning, and cost-effective planning. This experience is crucial in ensuring both inbound and outbound loads create revenue. Knowledge of Freight forwarding/ Freight Exchange/ Haulage Exchange platforms is desirable. A strong understanding of the driver tacho rules and legal requirements will ensure routes are planned according to the drivers' hours and rest periods. The key messages are planning cost-effective routes, being a strong team player, and taking an open-minded approach. Working hours : Monday to Friday, 09:00/18:00, with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. However, you are required to have a flexible approach to support our team where required.
