AWE is recruiting a Project Manager to lead trials and test capability projects. This is a great opportunity to join a rapidly growing team in a mission critical area of the business.
Location: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.
Package: £48,000 to £60,000 (depending on your suitability, qualifications, and level of experience).

AWE has an exciting and diverse portfolio of core technical and scientific projects to deliver. In your role you will:
1. Manage projects with focus on Governance (compliance and reporting).
2. Management of project resources (people, money).
3. Lead the planning of the task/project.
4. Lead, support, and initiate change against the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
5. Lead, initiate and perform risk and opportunity identification and subsequent actions.
The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Project Manager with a technical/mechanical project management background to work in a testing/trial's environment. You will:
1. Deliver assigned projects in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost, and quality.
2. Lead, coach and develop a team at a local level to deliver team and personal objectives safely and securely to meet our operational plans.
3. Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a great team player.
We do need you to have the following:
1. Graduate qualification and/or equivalent demonstrable experience working within a mechanical and/or technical projects and testing environment.
2. A willingness to travel overseas, there may be the opportunity for business travel with this role, approximately 5 international trips per year (this is subject to change as per business need).
Whilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following:
1. A positive 'can do' attitude and willingness to be hands-on in a fast-paced, growing company.
2. High energy levels to ensure successful project delivery across multiple projects at a time.
3. Skills to create and update all project documentation, including project management plans and supporting risks, assumptions, actions, issues & dependencies.
4. Experience of project management tools and techniques for budgeting, change management and project goal setting.
5. Ability to effectively prioritise workload, resources, and deadlines within high pressure complex environments.
6. A proven record to drive project deliverables forward, working cooperatively with teams who have a broad range of skills.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with staff at all levels.
8. Excellent customer and key stakeholder relationship skills.
9. Knowledge of methods to track project deliverables including implementing key performance indicators and producing project progress reports.
10. Risk techniques to manage project risks and interdependencies with efficient mitigation and contingency plans.
11. Experience to manage projects through a lifecycle and the associated governance, including stage gate approvals.
12. Ability to solve problems and deliver results through creative solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
13. Desire for continuous improvement through evaluation of both successes and failures.
You'll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Hybrid working is available for this role on an informal, non-contractual basis. Typically 2 to 3 days onsite per week.
