Job Description
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Sustainable Used Materials Repair Engineer to join our team in Hemel Hempstead, United Kingdom. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to promote sustainability and circular economy principles through the repair and refurbishment of used materials.
* Develop and implement efficient repair and refurbishment processes for used materials, focusing on sustainability and waste reduction
* Analyse and optimise existing repair techniques to improve durability and extend the lifespan of repaired items
* Design and conduct tests to evaluate the performance and quality of repaired materials
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable repair practices into the overall product lifecycle
* Research and recommend innovative materials and technologies to enhance the repair process
* Create detailed technical documentation and reports on repair methodologies and outcomes
* Manage repair projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets
* Provide technical guidance and training to repair technicians and other team members
* Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in sustainable engineering and circular economy practices
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or Environmental)
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in engineering, preferably in a sustainability-focused role
* Proven experience with used materials repair and refurbishment techniques
* Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices, particularly in relation to sustainable materials
* Proficiency in CAD software and project management tools
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* In-depth understanding of sustainability and circular economy principles
* Knowledge of waste management and recycling processes
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Professional Engineering (PE) certification preferred
* Passion for environmental conservation and sustainable practices
