Ward Clerk
Department: Ward 3
Band 2 £23,615 per annum, pro rata
Hours: 22.5 per week, (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our 28 bedded female medical ward.
The post holder will provide excellent customer care that demonstrates a caring and responsive approach to those attending the hospital, contributing to a quality experience for patients, families and professionals. You should enjoy communicating and collaborating with a wide range of people, be highly organised and have a flexible approach to work. Attention to detail and good keyboard skills are essential.
As a new member of the team, we offer a supernumerary period of training to help you settle in. We are committed to staff development and will help you develop your skills for the role, as required.

Main duties of the job
To support ward staff and ward working in an admin and clerical capacity to ensure the environment is safe and effective.

Job responsibilities
* Greet all visitors to the unit in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner.
* The undertaking of general organisation of paperwork and notes within the Unit to ensure an organized department.
* To answer the telephone, taking and delivering messages in an appropriate and helpful manner. Manage Out-patients diary.
* To liaise with staff from other departments in an effective manner to include the bed manager/medical records/divisional bleep holders as requested.
* Deal with and distribute incoming mail, checking and replying to ward emails.
* Ensure all patients' notes on the unit are maintained in good order with test results promptly and correctly filed.
