At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Fire Fighter Development Trainer at one of our London sites.
The role
As a Fire Fighter Development (FFD) Trainer, you’ll have an out-of-the-ordinary role with opportunities for career growth, work-life balance, and recognition for your contributions. You will deliver and assess courses for the London Fire Brigade, focusing on modern firefighting techniques across various scenarios. No prior training experience is required, as we will develop you into the role.
* Deliver training courses and provide feedback adhering to LFB standards.
* Maintain your professional competence as per organisational requirements.
* Pilot new training initiatives when needed.
* Complete and submit all relevant course documentation promptly and accurately.
Primarily, you will deliver 2-day refresher courses and courses for specialist extended-duration breathing apparatus wearers. There may also be opportunities to train future firefighters on firefighter development courses. All training is conducted at our London venues in Park Royal and Beckton.
Essential experience for the FFD Trainer:
* Experience in teaching, coaching, assessing, or presenting to adults (preferable but not essential).
* Fire-related background or experience (a distinct advantage).
* Passionate, adaptable, and engaging individuals.
Qualifications for the FFD Trainer:
If from a non-fire background, ideally you will hold a Level 3 or above Assessing and Training Qualification (training can be provided by the company if needed). The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance.
