We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Enfield to assist with the appointment of a Substance Misuse Early Intervention Worker, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay: £18.45 - £22.67 per Hour Summary: We are looking for a Substance Misuse Early Intervention Worker to join the Youth Development Service in Enfield. This role focuses on providing targeted support and interventions to young people at risk of or engaged in substance misuse. You will deliver psychosocial and harm reduction interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interventions, while ensuring smooth referral pathways to Insight Enfield Sort It. The role involves community travel, including the use of the Youth Bus and Health & Well-being Bus. Flexibility is required to work during school hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities: Manage a small caseload (approx. 7 young people) who refuse referrals to Insight Enfield Sort It Conduct substance misuse screenings and ensure referrals to appropriate treatment services. Provide targeted support to young people to help reduce or stop substance misuse. Raise awareness by delivering information and guidance to help young people make informed choices. Support young people in accessing Youth Development Service activities during and after intervention. Work with Insight Enfield Sort It to maintain seamless referral pathways and co-deliver interventions. Submit treatment data to the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS). Travel within the community (a clean drivers license is an advantage). Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards. Qualifications: Youth Work qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent professional qualification). Experience delivering psychosocial and harm reduction interventions (e.g., CBT, Motivational Interventions). Essential : Proven experience as a Substance Misuse Worker/Practitioner. Experience delivering targeted support to young people to help reduce or stop substance misuse. Ability to provide structured care-planned interventions and manage a small caseload. Strong knowledge of substance misuse screening, referral processes, and maintaining continuity of care. Ability to increase awareness through universal delivery of information and guidance. Experience working with multi-agency partners to facilitate referrals and co-deliver interventions. Competence in data reporting to the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS).
