The successful candidate will work with a key UK distributor of technical and industrial materials. Whilst developing your knowledge to obtain your Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will work alongside our Materials Coordinator in our supply chain, ensuring efficient processes as well as assisting with kitting our electrical and other components.
Wage: £14,133.60 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.
Training course: Supply chain warehouse operative (level 2)
Hours: Monday to Friday, exact working hours TBC. 36 hours a week.

What you’ll do at work
Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Developing your knowledge in-line with the apprenticeship's Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
* Shadowing our Materials Coordinator to learn the business processes and procedures
* Assisting in the receipt, storage and picking of products
* Kitting a range of specified components ready for dispatch
* Pack products in line with company procedures
* Ensuring accurate dispatching of products
* Using a range of company software in-line with procedures

* Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
* Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
* Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
* Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
* Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
* Support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
* Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
* Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
* Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
* Carry out and record learning and development activities.

Your training plan
Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:
* Training will take place within the workplace, supported by regular visits with an assigned industry Skills Coach
* As a student, you will have access to both the Cauldon and Burslem campuses of Stoke-on-Trent College, should you wish to make use of our facilities
Requirements
GCSE in:
* English (grade C/4 or above)
* Maths (grade C/4 or above)

Some lifting will be required. Understanding of quick counting, percentages and multiplication would be advantageous within the role.
