Here at Saga, we are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with general ledger accounting, business partnering, and the production and delivery of internal reporting for Saga Group Limited.
This role is suited to a part-qualified finance professional who is likely to have a background in financial and management accounting and control. The individual will need to have strong analytical skills and be able to work to tight deadlines.

Main Responsibilities:
1. Reconciliation of all Saga Group bank accounts and associated G/L postings
2. Raising intercompany invoices
3. Intercompany accounts reconciliation at month-end, ensuring this is complete within the required timescale
4. Preparation of Balance sheet reconciliations
5. Processing of timesheets for review by the Assistant Finance Manager
6. Uploading Click Travel invoices
7. Processing credit card transactions
8. Sub-let accounting (including preparation of the annual service charge reconciliation)
9. Maintenance of the Fixed asset register ensuring compliance with Group accounting policies
10. Cost centre management, including accruals and prepayment journals, monthly forecasting and modelling for the current financial year, full-year budget, longer-term planning, and providing variance analysis and commentary to present to internal stakeholders
11. Supplier spend analysis
12. Adhoc projects and other data analysis as required
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Part Qualified Accountant (either AAT, ACCA, ACA or CIMA), likely to have a background in financial and management accounting and control, who can demonstrate strong GL accounting capability and a good understanding of financial reporting
2. Very high level of proficiency in the use of Excel and general ledger systems with previous experience of Unit 4 Dream, IBM Cognos Controller, IBM TM1 and Workday (advantageous)
3. Able to work as part of a team and capable of delivering to tight deadlines
4. An eye for detail and the ability to understand technically complex accounting issues
