The Peterborough peaking facilities, located in Peterborough, UK, comprise two key power installations. The first facility features a simple cycle peaking 2-unit combustion turbine GE Frame 9E, while the second comprises a reciprocating peaking facility equipped with 5 Wärtsilä 34SG units.
In addition to the Peterborough Peaking facilities, the Whitetower Asset Portfolio is also comprised of six other strategically located facilities, primarily focused on simple cycle natural gas-fired technology. These include Derby (58 MW), Heartlands (100 MW), Viking (50 MW), Thornhill (40 MW), Exeter (50 MW), and Croydon (50 MW). Together, these assets contribute to a robust energy supply, leveraging advanced technologies to deliver reliable and sustainable power across the region.
Opportunity Summary
The Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator is a key role in managing and maintaining warehouse operations at Peterborough, ensuring accurate stock control, efficient inventory management, and smooth logistics. This hands-on position involves receiving, storing, and distributing materials, tracking stock movements, and operating forklifts to support plant operations. Working closely with the O&M team, the Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator ensures critical spare parts and supplies are available when needed, minimising downtime, and maintaining operational efficiency. Responsibilities include stocking shelves, organising warehouse space, inspecting incoming shipments, and maintaining compliance with company policies and safety standards. Occasional travel will be required to support inventory management at other Whitetower facilities.

Primary Functions
Your scope of responsibility as Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator will include the following primary functions:
1. Oversee and maintain all inventory at Peterborough, ensuring accurate stock levels, proper storage, and efficient tracking of materials in the CMMS.
2. Monitor stock movements, assess demand trends, and adjust inventory levels to optimise warehouse efficiency and minimise shortages.
3. Receive, inspect, and organise incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality before stocking shelves or allocating materials.
4. Order and restock warehouse items in line with operational needs and company policies, ensuring critical components are available when required.
5. Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and audits to maintain inventory accuracy and compliance with warehouse management standards.
6. Work closely with the O&M team to ensure timely availability of spare parts, tools, and equipment, supporting smooth plant operations.
7. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely, loading and unloading deliveries, and ensuring proper storage of heavy or bulky items.
8. Maintain a clean, organised, and well-structured warehouse layout to maximise space utilisation and streamline retrieval processes.
9. Coordinate the distribution of materials to various departments, ensuring the right components are delivered to the right locations efficiently.
10. Occasionally travel to other operational sites to support inventory control, logistics, and stock transfers as needed.
11. Conduct vendor visits, both domestically and internationally, for inspections, procurement, and supplier coordination.
12. Adhere to all plant policies, safety regulations, and housekeeping standards to protect assets, equipment, and personnel.

Working Relationships
The Warehouse and Logistics Coordinator will report to the Fleet Engineer and will be expected to have a high level of self-management to achieve desired objectives. This position will have regular interaction with the Financial Manager and O&M Team.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include the possibility of standing on feet for extended periods of time, stair and ladder climbing, routinely lifting up to 15 kg, and when necessary, use a respirator.
Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, gloves, and high voltage protective equipment etc.). Working with hazardous materials may be required.
Fitness For Duty
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Work Schedule
Position is primarily an office hour’s role which may at times require extended working hours and some weekend and Bank Holiday work, as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call “status will periodically be required. Additionally, the position occasionally requires travel to all fleet locations to ensure delivery of business needs.
Compensation
Initial starting compensation will range from £28,000 to £38,000
Technical Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
13. Industrial experience in warehouse operations, stock control, and material handling within a maintenance or operational environment.
14. Hands-on experience with receiving, storing, and distributing materials, including operating forklifts and other handling equipment.
15. Strong understanding of supply chain processes, stock optimisation, and best practices for efficient material flow.
16. Ability to coordinate and oversee third-party logistics providers, ensuring timely deliveries and compliance with company policies.
17. Solid knowledge of health and safety regulations related to warehouse environments, storage procedures, and forklift operation.
18. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to maintain accurate records, optimise storage space, and support smooth operations.
19. Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) for tracking stock movements and managing reorders.
20. Competence in Microsoft Office and other digital tools for reporting, data analysis, and workflow management.
21. Valid RTITB, ITSSAR, NPORS, or AITT-accredited forklift certification required prior to employment, with proven experience in safe forklift operation.
22. Must possess a valid and unrestricted driving licence, ensuring it remains in good standing at all times.
