Complex Health Clinical Nurse- Part Time. Hourly Rate:£20.67 We are currently recruiting a Registered Nurse to extend our existing team to support a female in her family home with an acquired brain injury, Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. This role is based in Whitby in a wonderful, loving family home delivering 1:1 support. (shift patterns may vary and can be discussed upon application – typical shift example 16 hrs and one sleep) plus available bank shifts. Shifts can be organised so consecutive 24 hr shifts will be available. The accommodation for sleeping in is a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom. V is non -verbal and lives at home with her parents, she is also very close to her sibling and family who live close by. V has a fun-loving sense of humour and a busy social life. She loves going to the pub, days out shopping, trips to cinema and the theatre. V is always interested in trying new things. She also likes watching TV, loves a good rom com and arts and crafts too Role responsibilities As a qualified Nurse with 2 years post-graduation experience you will provide effective clinical support. You will have the knowledge and skills to support the Clinical Lead Nurse in delivering consistent, quality care that keeps people safe. This role also requires someone with a great sense of humour and a willingness to support someone to do the things they enjoy and go out and about as desired. Personal Assistant support is in place for overnight support to enable the Nurse to sleep. You will liaise with other health professionals in order to meet the clinical needs of the person in receipt of nursing care. You will approach everything you do in a person-centred way, maintaining people's dignity, through being respectful and promoting people's human rights, independence and wellbeing. You will work in accordance with current legislation and the NMC code of conduct, Brightening Lives policy and procedures, and the framework of the CQC fundamental standards and people's individual care plans. You will have an effective registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council with no restrictions and cautions and be registered to practise as a nurse in the UK. Main task and responsibilities Support adults and children with clinical care and support needs to maximise their independence and wellbeing in a person-centred way Provide appropriate personal care in a way that promotes dignity and independence Support people to manage medication and use of specialist equipment Support people with complex health and behavioural needs Provide all support in line with agreed care plans to achieve goals and outcomes identified by the person receiving care Support people in a way that their health and social care needs are met Communicate effectively with people with care and support needs in their chosen way, also with their families, friends and partner agencies Maintain accurate, up to date written records Contribute to the safeguarding of children and adults, alerting an appropriate person where potential abuse is identified Identify environmental, infection and falls risks and provide appropriate advice and information and refer on when necessary Encourage positive risk taking by supporting people in managing agreed risk in their day to day lives Work as a member of a team You will be supported with continued professional development and NMC revalidation is provided, and you will have clinical supervision with a Clinical Lead Nurse.
