The Senior Technical Healthcare Support Worker will work as part of the nursing team to support the assessment and initial management of new patient admissions to the department, providing personal nursing care and clinical interventions in the inpatient hospital care setting.
Experience in skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, ECG, septic screen, swab taking, bladder scans, and catheterisation would be ideal but can also be taught as part of on-the-job training.
Main Duties of the Job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy when they need it most.
The post holder needs to communicate with all levels of the team and will be involved in training other staff. They may contribute to the assessment of care needs and the delivery of planned care under the delegation and direction of the registered nurse, including recording and documenting physiological observations and changes to patients' clinical conditions.
While this role has an emphasis on technical aspects, providing personal care, promoting nutritional needs, and assisting in the recovery and recuperation of patients are also essential responsibilities.
Working Pattern
Shifts are 11 hours, working 09:00 hours - 21:00 hours or 10:00 hours - 22:00 hours with 2x 30-minute breaks. Please check this at your interview. Depending on your shift pattern and working hours, you may also receive additional enhancements to your pay.
