Job Title: Personal Social Development (PSD) Teacher
Location: Derbyshire (with occasional travel to other sites and pupils homes)
Pay: £153 - £220 per day
Start Date: January 2025 or ASAP
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Prospero Teaching is recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Personal Social Development (PSD) Teacher to join a dynamic and expanding alternative provision in Derbyshire.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 who have faced challenges in mainstream education. You will be teaching PSD subjects, providing support and inspiration to students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach PSD subjects to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils in small, engaging lessons, designed to meet individual learning needs.
Act as an allocated form tutor, building positive relationships and offering pastoral care.
Contribute to a small, supportive team and help ensure the smooth running of the site.
Foster a positive learning environment and maintain high expectations of behaviour and academic achievement.
Deliver flexible support for pupils, including travel to different sites and occasional home visits.
Participate in CPD, reward trips, and other activities that enhance the student experience.
Skills & Qualifications Required:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in secondary or alternative education.
Strong understanding of the needs of disaffected pupils, particularly those with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
Ability to design and deliver engaging and motivating lessons tailored to the needs of each student.
Resilience, high expectations, and a good sense of humour.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with challenging pupils.
Access to a vehicle with business-use insurance for travel to various sites and occasional pupil transport.
