Are you an experienced Administrator looking to take the next step in your career? Join St Neots Hospital as a full-time Mental Health Act and Finance Administrator and enjoy a career where you are valued and supported to be the best you can be.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for organising and coordinating Mental Health Review Tribunals, Section Renewals and Hospital Manager Appeal meetings for service users. This will see you help to prepare and arrange paperwork to support the meetings, with the support of the Mental Health Act Manager.
Within this role, you will also supervise the financial administration of the unit’s Client Fund Account, petty cash float, and safety deposit facility through the effective and efficient application of local procedures and processes.
With previous experience in a similar role and good organisational, communication, and time management skills, you can enjoy a long and rewarding career, where a range of training opportunities are available that can see your career grow and aspirations achieved.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Having knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act and any subsequent legislation.
* Ensuring that invoicing of patients' enhanced support is completed and submitted to head office.
* Managing the deposit of cash, cheques, and other receipts and the withdrawal of funds required to sustain a substantial petty cash float.
* Regularly liaising with patients, their families, and carers to identify financial needs and entitlements, and then liaising with the social worker to provide assistance and information to enable patients to claim statutory benefits and access personal banking facilities.
* Assisting the social worker with the accurate and timely completion, processing, and monitoring of the DoLS paperwork.
* Ensuring patients, their relatives, legal representatives, and official agencies are provided with the information and documentation required to effect the detention, registration, and admission of an individual under the provisions of the MHA.
* Organising and servicing all associated meetings, ensuring the effective and timely production, collation, and distribution of reports, minutes, and other relevant documentation.
* Ensuring that all information and documentation is correctly processed in line with policies and procedures to meet regulatory and statutory requirements. Maintaining the audit trail to ensure up-to-date and accurate information can be provided or accessed as required.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Knowledge of Mental Health Act 1983, including Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Act and any subsequent legislation.
* Experience within a similar environment.
* Competence in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Where you will be working:
You will be working in the heart of St Neots in Cambridge, alongside the team at St Neots Hospital, which offers care, therapeutic, and rehabilitation pathways for those affected by a neurological or mental health condition for which challenging behaviour may be the leading impairment.
St Neots provides assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and complex care for both male and female patients suffering from a broad range of neurological conditions, e.g., Huntington’s disease, an acquired or traumatic brain injury, frontotemporal dementia, or functional disorders, and is provided by a highly experienced team based on site.

* Free meals and parking.
* Wellbeing support and activities to help you maintain a great work-life balance.
