As an organisation, we recognise the value of a healthy work-life balance. When applying, speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate flexible working, so your work life fits around your home life.
We particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the Trust.
We are excited to recruit 2 x RCEM Credentialed ACPs to our growing team and are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals for an ACP post within the Emergency Department at Bristol Royal Infirmary and Weston General Hospital. There is 1 x vacancy at each site.
This post is based in the adult ED, with all ACPs expected to work autonomously across all areas of the adult ED (Fast Flow, Majors, Resuscitation, SDEC). The department has an excellent track record of supporting ACPs to successfully credential with RCEM, and we have three credentialled adult ACPs on staff currently.
This role is demanding, requiring significant experience, enthusiasm, and drive to ensure the care we provide to deteriorating patients is evidence-based, safe, and effective.
If we are unsuccessful in recruiting a Credentialed ACP at Bristol Royal Infirmary and/or Weston General Hospital, we will accept applications for a trainee post instead.
Main duties of the job
1. Demonstrate competency in all areas of the adult ED.
2. Demonstrate the ability to look after patients with a wide range of pathologies from the life-threatening to the self-limiting.
3. Identify the critically ill and injured, providing safe and effective immediate care.
4. Demonstrate expertise in resuscitation and be skilled in the practical procedures needed.
5. Establish the diagnosis and differential diagnosis rapidly, and initiate or plan for definitive care.
6. Work with all the in-patient and supporting specialties as well as primary care and prehospital services.
7. Correctly identify who needs admission and who can be safely discharged.
8. Undertake relevant additional activities across the four pillars of advanced practice (clinical practice, research, leadership & management, and education).
