Job Description
* Developing and Communicating Financial Strategy: Lead the creation and communication of the organisation's financial strategy, ensuring alignment with overall goals and sustainability.
* Budget Management: Collaborate with academy leaders to develop, monitor, and manage the annual budget, ensuring alignment with educational goals.
* Service Delivery & Innovation: Continuously evaluate and improve financial services to meet strategic objectives and emerging sector trends.
* Financial Oversight: Oversee financial systems, processes, and operations, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and effectiveness in financial management.
* Risk and Capital Management: Work with leadership to develop strategies for capital expenditure and manage financial risks.
* Stakeholder Relationship Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing assurance and financial reports as required.
* Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the finance team, ensuring high performance, recruitment, training, and development of staff.
* Compliance & Reporting: Ensure statutory financial compliance, manage audits, and prepare necessary financial returns.
* Pursuing Funding Opportunities: Identify and secure additional funding, grants, and resources to support the organisation's strategic objectives.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be a strategic and results-driven finance leader with extensive experience in financial management, ideally within the education or not-for-profit sector. They will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams while driving financial excellence. The candidate will be highly analytical, with a solid understanding of financial strategy, budgeting, and risk management, as well as experience in financial reporting and compliance. Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities will be essential for collaborating with senior leadership, stakeholders, and external partners. A proactive mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation will be key to success in this role.
