Software Engineer - National Security
Salary: £75,000 to £85,000
Location: Hampshire
Work pattern: Full-time on site
An innovative technology and engineering company is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to become a vital part of their team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new software features for a critical National Security product and performing updates to operating systems and third-party packages. You'll collaborate closely with services teams and customer technical teams to address complex challenges and drive the mission of enhancing national safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead application software development for Linux using languages such as C++, Python, or JavaScript.
Work with network protocols and engage in socket programming.
Provide technical training and consultancy to internal teams and clients.
Port products to new hardware platforms as necessary.
What We're Looking For:
Proficiency in application software development for Linux.
Strong experience with network protocols and socket programming.
Familiarity with Redhat-based Linux variants (e.g., Rocky 9) is a plus.
Exposure to web technologies such as React and Django, SQL databases (ideally PostgreSQL), and testing tools like Robot Framework, Jenkins, or GitLab is advantageous.
