Our client is looking for a dedicated Nursery Nurse to join their vibrant and supportive team. In this role, you will play a key part in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow.
The nursery aims to provide a friendly, homely atmosphere that offers plenty of opportunities for children to learn through play, following the guidelines of the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).

Are you the right person for the job?
1. Level 2/3 Early years qualification
2. Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting
3. Enhanced DBS Check
4. Strong verbal and written communication skills
5. Familiarity with EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) curriculum
6. Safeguarding experience or knowledge of child protection procedures
7. Ability to build strong relationships with parents to ensure continuity of care and support for children's development
8. Excellent time management and problem solving skills
What will your role look like?
1. To contribute to a programme of activities that meet the individual needs and interests of children in your area in conjunction with other team members.
2. To keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys and share this with parents, carers, and other key adults in the child's life.
3. To follow the nursery safeguarding procedure to ensure all children are kept safe, well, and secure.
4. Engage in good team working.
5. Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
6. To attend out-of-working-hours activities, e.g., training, monthly staff meetings, parents' evening, fundraising events, etc.
7. To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking certain domestic jobs within the nursery, e.g., preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
8. Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery's philosophy is fulfilled.
9. Read, understand, and adhere to all policies and procedures relevant to your role as deemed appropriate by the Manager.
10. Recording accidents in the accident book. Ensure the Duty Manager has initialled the report before the parent receives it.
11. Ensure someone known and agreed by the nursery and parent collects the child.
12. To respect the confidentiality of all information received.
13. The preparation and completion of activities to suit each individual child's stage of development and interests.
14. To develop your role within the team, especially with regard to your role as a key person.
15. To ensure that meal times are a time of pleasant social sharing.
16. Washing and changing children as required.
17. To ensure good standards of safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
18. Ensuring a poorly child is kept calm and warm, and management is notified immediately.
19. To develop and maintain strong partnerships and communications with parents/carers to facilitate day-to-day caring and early learning needs.
20. To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children regardless of any disabilities, family backgrounds, or medical history.
21. To be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times, both within work hours and outside.
