Join our dynamic Data & Analytics team as a Business Intelligence Analyst and play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate submission of critical performance reports. Working closely with colleagues across the Trust, you'll extract, validate, and analyse data to create dashboards and reports that inform clinical and operational decisions. In this role you will work with SQL and Power BI to develop innovative, automated solutions and support the Trust's data warehouse development.

Main duties of the job
As a Business Intelligence Analyst within the Trust's Data & Analytics Department, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality data solutions that support clinical and operational decision-making. Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for managing and submitting key performance reports (e.g., SITREPs) and ensuring their accuracy and timely delivery.
In this role, you will:
1. Extract, validate, and analyse complex datasets from acute and community systems.
2. Develop dashboards, scorecards, and automated reporting tools using SQL, Power BI, and other technologies.
3. Liaise with colleagues across the Trust to improve data quality and ensure compliance with national reporting standards.
4. Respond to ad hoc requests for information from managers, clinicians, and external stakeholders.
5. Support the development of the Trust's data warehouse and other clinical information systems.

Person Specification
Qualifications
1. Degree or equivalent higher education qualification or minimum 2 years' experience in a specialist IT role
2. Evidence of further professional development
Knowledge
1. Knowledge of relational databases and data warehousing principles
2. Working knowledge of data visualisation and business intelligence tools
3. Understanding of data cleaning and data quality concepts
4. In depth practical knowledge of NHS data dictionary, common datasets and NHS central returns
5. Familiar with Acute and Community health services
6. Understanding of NHS Data standards
7. Familiarity with NHS acute and community clinical and administration systems
Skills
1. Ability to understand and gather requirements from stakeholders in order to develop effective reporting/data solutions
2. Competent in the use of SQL
3. Understanding of database design, creation, tables, permissions, etc.
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills to all levels of staff
5. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, effectively using tools available
6. Good presentation skills in all media - verbal, written, visual etc.
7. Ability to analyse and present highly complex information and to communicate complex concepts to staff from non-IT backgrounds.
8. Working knowledge of performance management software such as CHKS iCompare
9. Competent in the use of programming languages such as Python or R
10. Competent in the use of the Microsoft BI Stack, including SSIS, SSRS and SSAS
11. Competent in the use of Power BI & DAX

1. Use advance features of MS Excel, including functions and pivot tables, to manipulate and present data.
